“Like the Vast” by Dominique Francis

It holds its power to the scalp

Let’s you do as you can

Sea burnt wrinkles will soon callus

From the strength of her brine.

But it’s her veins, she didn’t make them

Some maker did, and it feels...

Wet. Let go and it’s weightless

Otherworldly, weird, and weightless.

But the zesty turquoise beauty smiles like a sin,

Its gusto inspired you to

Forgive it for its strength

Let light shine luminance from the sky!

To fill this saturated paradise!

Down, a light in thick fog

A poking of an obvious, electric roar

Enchanting as cursed and adrift

Detached from the source of Gaia

But that’s life.

Grandly deep with hints of breath

Muffled kelp freckles of the vastness-

The lost soul of never-ending

Foreign efforts for the bright blue glimpse.
