WELCOME TO THE WEST

On the slopes of Mt. Olympus, far from the gluttony and excess of his fellow gods, it is said Hephaestus toiled in a workshop of his own creation. There, fueled by the heat of twenty bellows, he crafted the strongest armor and most intricate finery ever wrought. Day and night, he worked over his anvil, imbuing his creations with the magic and strength of the Olympians. It was in this forge that Hephaestus came to represent the mythic potential of creation.

This potential lives on here, thousands of years later and at the foot of a different set of mountains. The American West has a history deeply steeped in the literary tradition, but only now has the door been opened to all voices. Ours is the story of the West, and it is ready to be told in full.

Twenty Bellows seeks to showcase the work of the next generation of artisans - those who work in word and verse with the same intensity of a blacksmith and their hammer. Emphasizing the work of emerging and unpublished writers and poets, 20B seeks to amplify their voices in print and on stage.
