Every Mother, Every Story.

Matriarch will be a collaborative chapbook exploring the complexities of motherhood — its beauty, its burdens, its contradictions.

We seek work that embraces the nuance of the maternal experience, celebrating all mothers in all their imperfect, powerful, and deeply human forms.

Matriarch is open to ALL, but especially mothers of every kind – biological, surrogate, adoptive, chosen, step, and otherwise – as well as those experiencing infertility, separation, loss, and estrangement.

  • Poetry

We’re looking for a single poem that captures the nuance of the maternal experience, whether intimate, expansive, joyous, or aching. Let your lines hold power, vulnerability, and truth. Maximum 50 lines.

  • Artwork

We welcome artwork that speaks to the beauty, contradictions, and deep humanity of motherhood. Bold, delicate, abstract, or representational. We want pieces that make us pause and see the maternal world anew.
