On Stranger Tides: A Guided Meditation for Writers

Guided Meditation for Writers: On Stranger Tides

Imagine enjoying a solitary beach bonfire when suddenly you discover—what, exactly?

Experience an imaginative guided meditation tailored specifically to writers to generate inventive and unexpected images, phrases, and ideas.

This workshop is a companion to the popular Forest Vespers workshop you may have previously attended but will include utterly different writing prompts in a new (imaginary) setting.

This workshop welcomes all writers of any style and experience level. The workshop will take place over Zoom, but much of our hour will be spent with cameras off as writers privately listen and react to the meditation. (Feel free to bring candles, tea, or anything else to make your space extra comfortable!) There will be an opportunity to share at the end of the workshop, with no pressure to do so.

About the instructor:

Erica Reid is a Colorado poet, editor, educator, and critic. Her debut poetry collection Ghost Man on Second won the 2023 Donald Justice Poetry Prize and will be published by Autumn House Press. Erica has taught writing workshops through Western Colorado University, Twenty Bellows, The Movement Apothecary, the Founded in FoCo conference, and more.
